Who celebrates a birthday… gives a party!
WISE celebrates its 30th anniversary. The World Information Service on Energy (WISE), founded in 1978, has played a major role in international resistance to nuclear energy for decades.
Among the speakers will be Hermann Scheer. He is chairman of EUROSOLAR, the World Council for Renewable Energy (WCRE) and the International Parliamentary Forum on Renewable Energies. He is also a member of the SPD in the German parliament, a well-known author, a sharp opponent of nuclear energy, and founder of the successful German feed-in system for renewable energy. The programme includes two master classes on developments in the security of reactors and on the economic feasibility of (new) nuclear energy. Directors of energy companies will debate whether it is wise to invest in new power stations. And we will propose a toast to thirty years of WISE, to the environmental movement and to the successes achieved. Host for the evening is Maurits Groen, director of MGMC, environment and communication.
