Felix & Sofie: A new ethical code for journalism?
Can we trust our intuitive judgement about good and evil? Are moral judgements objective? What reasons do we have to do good and avoid evil? In Conversations on Ethics, Alex Voorhoeve (London School of Economics) tries to answer these questions by interviewing leading philosophers and social scientists like Peter Singer, Bernard Williams and Harry Frankfurt. Philip Romer talks with Voorhoeve about the interviews with these thinkers, about ethics and intuitions, and why love and morality are connected.
The traditional press seems to have been overtaken by online information services, social network sites, bloggers and twitterazzi. What does the rise of citizen journalism mean for the media? Joris van Lierop (philosopher, editor nu.nl) and Bas van Stokkom (author of Mondig tegen elke prijs) will debate the freedom of speech, protection of the press, and new aesthetic codes for journalism.
