Democracy: That’s me. The new generation thinkers about democratic renewal

One of the most urgent issues of today is the lack of shared, inspired and coordinating visions in the public domain. Various groups in society seem to grow further apart. How can we gain the faith of the citizen and can the government shape this?

A new generation will talk about the following issues: What values are especially important for the young generation? How can the feeling of citizenship, social solidarity, civil society, political involvement and equality be strengthened? Who will participate with vision and ideology in the public debate? Is the current Dutch parliamentarian system still sufficient or do we need to develop a new system? How do we stay active in this process?

With Maarten Bas-Backer (drdirck.com), Rindert de Groot (writer, editor, presenter and moderator), Jeroen Dieptemaat (JOVD) and Femke Kaulingfreks (PhD and member of the think tank Doetank). Moderator: Lisa Doeland (Felix & Sofie),

This debate is organized by Felix Meritis in the framework of the Dutch Week of Democracy (24 October - 2 November). This week is organized by Forum voor Democratische Ontwikkeling for the Dutch Ministry of the Interior.
